Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead
The farmstead is an eight-acre park, dedicated in memory of Deanna Rose, Overland Park police officer killed in 1985. This unique park was designed to depict a turn-of-the-century farm and includes a petting zoo, silo with slides, farmhouse, mining area, Native American teepees and artifacts, one-room schoolhouse, and a fishing pond. If you have a passion for bountiful gardens, don’t miss the Johnson County Master Gardener exhibits. Admission is free and donations are accepted. New Theatre Restaurant
Recognized in The Wall Street Journal as “the best dinner theatre in the country”, you will find Broadway shows and fine cuisine under one roof. Some of the top celebrities from stage, film and TV have starred in many well-known productions. This is quite an entertainment value with ticket prices ranging from about $25-$50 per person.
Overland Park Arboretum
Just five minutes south of Overland Park off 69 Highway, you will find the 300 acre Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. This park is a wonderful place to enjoy a nature walk as you wind through the various shaded paths on nearly five miles of wood chip hiking trails.
